Sapientia Language Institute is proud to announce that we are now the first and only accredited CILS Examination Centre in Sri Lanka, authorized by the Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italy and recognised by the Italian government.
Founded in 1917, the Università per Stranieri di Siena is one of Italy’s most prestigious institutions dedicated to the teaching and promotion of the Italian language and culture worldwide.
The CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera) is an internationally recognized Italian language qualification officially recognized by the Italian Government. The examination assesses Italian language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), with examinations available from A1 to C2 levels.
CILS examinations are conducted at different times throughout the year, allowing candidates to obtain a globally recognized certification for academic, professional, citizenship, and personal purposes.

Sapientia Language Institute (SLI) has established itself with the ambition of becoming the benchmark for Italian language education in Sri Lanka, beginning from its main language centre and head office in Colombo.
